12.1. - Aktionstag gegen die UG-Novelle

Freie Bildung für alle - nein zum neuen Universitätsgesetz
Liebe Studierende der Universität Wien!

Die Novelle des Universitätsgesetzes (UG) steht kurz bevor und der aktuelle Entwurf bringt wie angekündigt grobe Verschlechterungen für uns Studierende mit sich. Im UG ist der gesamte Alltag an allen österreichischen Universitäten geregelt, von unseren Prüfungsantritten bis hin zur Leitung der Universität, es betrifft uns also alle. Jetzt plant die Bundesregierung Maßnahmen, um den Zugang zu den Universitäten weiter einzuschränken: so soll zukünftig jede Person vom Studium ausgeschlossen werden, die nicht 24 ECTS innerhalb der ersten vier Semester schafft. Das trifft vor allem all jene, die es ohnehin schon schwer genug haben. Außerdem soll die Mitbestimmung eingeschränkt und der Senat, also das einzig demokratische Leitungsgremium, entmachtet werden.
Das war aber längst nicht alles - der Begutachtunsentwurf der Novelle umfasst tatsächlich rund 150 Änderungsvorschläge. Bei unserer Online-Infoveranstaltung zur Novellierung des Universitätsgesetzes am Mo, 11.1. 18:00 geben wir dir einen Überblick über die die geplanten Neuerungen im Studienrecht und alle weiteren großen angedachten Änderungen. Im Anschluss ist eine offene Diskussion geplant.

Der Gesetzentwurf ist noch bis 15. Jänner in der Begutachtungsphase und geht dann in den parlamentartischen Prozess über. Noch haben wir die Möglichkeit, laut zu sein und Veränderungen zu bewirken!

Deshalb gehen wir im Rahmen des Aktionstages am 12.01.2021 gemeinsam auf die Straße. Wir zeigen auf, dass wir mit den aktuellen Entwicklungen in der Bildungspolitik nicht einverstanden sind. Das Vorgehen der Regierung, solche Eingriffe mitten in einer globalen Pandemie und über die Feiertage durchführen zu wollen, erfüllt uns mit Wut. Viele Studierende sind ohnehin bereits jetzt massiv von dieser Pandemie betroffen. Depressionen und psychische Erkrankungen haben zugenommen, immer noch können viele nicht gut am Unterricht teilnehmen und auch finanziell sind viele in eine (noch) prekäre(re) Situation gekommen. Diesbezüglich gab es bisher viel zu wenig Unterstützung seitens der Regierung.

Der Hochschulzugang darf nicht weiter eingeschränkt werden sondern muss frei und offen für alle sein! Deshalb setzen wir uns als deine Interessenvertretung für Bildungsstrukturen ein, die gute Bildung für alle ermöglichen!

Also beteiligt euch am Protest und geht zu den Demonstrationen! Nicht nur in Wien, auch in anderen Bundesländern sind Kundgebungen geplant.
In Wien treffen wir uns am 12.1. um 16:00 vor dem Bildungsministerium am Minoritenplatz, kommt mit Mund-Nasen-Schutz und haltet Abstand! Hier findet ihr die Facebook-Veranstaltung.

Dear students of the University of Vienna!

 

The amendment of the University Act (UG) is imminent and, as announced, the current draft brings with it major deteriorations for us students. The UG regulates the entire everyday life at all Austrian universities, from our examination procedures to the management of the university, so it affects us all. Now the federal government is planning measures to further restrict access to universities: in future, anyone who does not complete 24 ECTS within the first four semesters will be excluded from studying. This will especially affect all those who already have a hard enough time. In addition, co-determination is to be restricted and the senate, the only democratic governing body, is to be disempowered.


But that was by no means all - the draft of the amendment actually includes around 150 proposed changes. At our online information event on the amendment of the University Act on Mon, 11.1. 18:00, we will give you an overview of the planned innovations in study law and all other major changes that are being considered. Afterwards, an open discussion is planned.

The draft law is still in the review phase until 15 January and will then enter the parliamentary process. We still have the opportunity to be loud and bring about change!

That is why we are taking to the streets together on 12 January 2021 as part of the day of action. We will show that we do not agree with the current developments in education policy. The government's action of wanting to implement such interventions in the middle of a global pandemic and over the holidays fills us with rage. Many students are already massively affected by this pandemic anyway. Depression and mental illness have increased, many are still unable to attend classes well and many have also found themselves in a precarious situation financially. In this regard, there has been far too little support from the government.

 

Access to higher education must not be further restricted but must be free and open to all! That's why we, as your interest group, stand up for educational structures that enable good education for all!

 

So join the protest and go to the demonstrations! Demonstrations are planned not only in Vienna, but also in other provinces.
In Vienna we will meet on 12.1. at 16:00 in front of the Ministry of Education at Minoritenplatz, come with mouth-nose protection and keep your distance! Here you can find the Facebook event.
